Rock Wool Pipe Installation Guidelines
1. Slide the rock wool pipe tightly over the pipe, with the vertical (horizontal) seam facing downward. The vertical seams of adjacent rock wool pipes must be staggered by at least 30 degrees, then secure the outer layer with 0.5 mm thick galvanized binding wire.
2. If the insulation thickness exceeds 100 mm (or the pipe temperature is higher than 250°C), apply the insulation in at least two layers. For multi-layer installation, it is recommended that both vertical and horizontal seams are staggered.
3. After completing insulation on all pipe sections, add a metal cladding (such as aluminum sheet) to the outer layer. Expansion joints should be left where necessary to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction of the pipes.
Applications of Rock Wool Pipe
ISOKING Rock Wool Pipe Sections are made from non-combustible, inorganic rock fibers and are suitable for the insulation of small and large diameter heating and ventilation pipes. It is widely used in HVAC ducts of commercial buildings, high-temperature steam pipes in industrial boiler rooms, and municipal central heating networks. It effectively reduces heat loss, improves energy efficiency, and provides reliable fire protection for various piping systems.
